Fishin' for Trouble... A whale of a tale

Count your blessing... name the one by one and it will amaze you what the Lord has done. Joyce Meyers suggests we pay close attention and keep a journal of all God's blessings... especially what some might consider the small ones.

At the corner of US 1/Overseas Highway in the Publix Shopping Center where the UPS store is... and the only access to US 1 from home we see at least once a day in our travels a marque advertising local activities. As we passed the notice for the inter-active murder mystery, I thought... I'd really like to see that and didn't give it another thought. One night after dinner, Sharon just couldn't contain herself and asked, "What night do you prefer to attend your surprise which involves eating... Friday or Saturday?". We chose Saturday and spent the next ten days wondering and guessing with each other... what could it be? What you read below is "the answer"!

Marathon, Florida is a "small" town of 11,000+/- which swells in the "Season (after Thanksgiving to Easter)" to who knows... the Publix grocery store parking lot and traffic on US 1/Overseas Highway is FULL. There is plenty of local entertainment all year but even more during the season. The majority of entertainment activities are fundraisers as is the Dinner/Play Irv and Wanda attended, thanks to the UPS Store who bought the tickets as a donation to benefit Crane Point Museum and Nature Center here in Marathon, as well as contributing a generous door prize. As you all know, Wanda loves small towns. Is it the big fish in the little pond idea, even though she is not a big fish in Marathon... Sharon and Arno have been here since 2001 and owned the UPS store for 3 years so Wanda and Irv benefit by meeting all the local folk. The food was exquisite and the play was a hoot!!!

"Go Fishin’for Trouble"... An interactive murder mystery will take place Saturday, February 20, at the Marathon Garden Club and will be performed by the Middle Keys Troupe-a-dours, a group recently organized specifically for this event and comprised of local residents of Marathon and Key West. The evening of food, fun and entertainment kicks off at 6 pm with a wine and cheese social hour and continues into dinner and dessert, all catered by Cristiano’s (Sharon and Arno's friend, Anthony, high school culinary institute instructor and his wife, Tonia), followed by the show.

All proceeds benefit the Crane Point Museum and Nature Center See information below...
