4th of July Georgia Style

Goodness, has it been almost a week since I wrote about our adventures. Well...

Friday, July 4th... I am told almost every lake in GA is man made. Our hosts for the 4th live on Lake Arrowhead which we began to think was on the other side of North GA nowhere. Lake Arrowhead is a private, gated lake, golf course community with roads that go up and down 50 degree angles. Just imagine a good roller coaster ride. The beautiful lake is well below the surrounding foothills. Our hosts had an enclosed Florida room, and upper deck and deck at the dock overlooking the lake. There were kayak's, a pontoon boat and swimming. After our pontoon boat ride we had fireworks. The food and company was out of this world. Irv and I had a wonderful time and it was so good to be with Julie, Kelly and Emily.

Monday, July 7th... Headed home to our coach in Cumming, GA from Michael's house. It's so good to be here! This week is going to be a quiet week as our daughter-in-law, Cam's father was rushed to the hospital 4th of July morning and had surgery today. He and her Mom will stay with her until he recuperates enough to return home in Destin, FL on the Gulf near Ft. Walton Beach.

Tuesday, July 8th... Cam gave Wanda a great project. There is a 12x12 area in the Rome Breast Center for a Boutique with various products one needs as they go through the cancer process. It is all new to me so Cam sent a number of boutique websites to look at in order to determine what product we want for the one in Rome and future boutiques. I am really enjoying my project.

Wednesday, July 9th... living in an RV there is no room to house the "normal" gifts you might receive for birthdays and Christmas so the great Kristianne Teems, Matthew's wife is so clever and gives us a variety of gift cards, one of which is AMC Theater tickets. I must tell you once you've turned off Route 9 onto the road leading to the campground... you would never guess within 2 miles is a great shopping area with an AMC Theater, Barnes and Nobles, many storesand fabulous restaurants like Ted Turner's Montana Grill whose specialty is Bison. We had dinner there tonight and Irv had Bison Meatloaf with Garlic Massed Potatoes and Squash Casserole. This is a great place when Irv says he likes it better than the Long Horn Steak House... it's good! Afterward I stopped on the way home to pick up my free every day through July 15th cup of Starbucks coffee. Shortly after we returned home, our nightly thunder storm passed over... a light one tonight. The rain is just gently falling now to cool us off with the windows open.

As you know Irv and I joined the YMCA so earlier today, we visited the state of the art YMCA about 2 miles from home set in a quaint village shopping/housing area across from Polo Grounds where an exclusive horse, golf course and million plus home community with soccer fields where Julie has taken the girls to play tournaments. Irv and I can't believe everywhere you go there are amazing homes. Where do all these people work?

On the way home, we went by the Post Office which is in the Citco Station then on over to the contractor whose doing our awning then on to dinner at Turner's.

What a place! Every day is a new adventure! Wonder what great thing God has in mind for us tomorrow. There is a song, "God is good all the time; all the time God is good". It is so true so we thank Him.
